Telehealth Consent

Last updated: September 29, 2026 · v2026-09-29

Before your first visit with a clinician through MediQuestAI, we ask you to read and agree to this consent. It explains what telehealth is, what it can and cannot do, and the choices you have. You agree to it in the pre-visit intake, and we record the version you agreed to.

1. What telehealth is

Telehealth means receiving care from a clinician by video, audio or secure messaging instead of in person. Clinicians on MediQuestAI are verified partner clinicians who use their own professional judgement.

2. Benefits and limits

  • You can see a clinician without travelling, often sooner than in person.
  • A clinician cannot examine you physically. They may decide your concern needs an in-person visit, tests or a different service, and may end a telehealth visit for that reason.
  • Video or audio can fail. If a visit is interrupted, your clinician will try to reconnect or reschedule.
  • Like any electronic communication, there is a small risk that information could be intercepted or disclosed despite the safeguards we use.

3. Your information

The clinician you book will see your pre-visit intake and your health record in MediQuestAI so they can care for you. Visits are not recorded unless you separately agree to a recording. Our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy lists who receives your data.

4. Treatment and prescriptions

Any diagnosis, treatment or prescription is decided solely by your clinician. Completing an intake or booking a visit does not mean you will receive a particular treatment or medicine. MediQuestAI may not support prescribing in your location; your clinician will tell you if another route is needed.

5. Emergencies

Telehealth is not for emergencies. If you think you may have a medical emergency, call your local emergency number or go to the nearest emergency department.

6. Where you are

You confirm that the location you give in your intake is where you will be during the visit. Clinicians may only care for patients where they are allowed to practise, so a clinician may reschedule if you are somewhere else.

7. Your choices

Your consent is voluntary. You can choose in-person care instead at any time. You can withdraw this consent and stop sharing your record with a clinician from Sharing in your dashboard; withdrawing does not undo care you have already received. Booking that clinician again asks for your consent again.

8. Age

You must be 18 or older to give this consent for yourself.
