Skin Journal — Sample journal

See whether your skincare routine is working — photo by photo, and honest about what photos can and can't show.

A made-up four-week journal that shows how MediQuest Skin works. No real person's photos or scores are shown.

Sample: Amani, Monk 9, using niacinamide in the morning and SPF 30 daily.

Your Niacinamide 5% serum test is ready to read

It has run its planned length and has a closing check-in that can be compared with its baseline.

Your skin tone (optional)

Pick the band closest to your skin on the Monk Skin Tone scale. We use it only to decide which scores photos can measure reliably for you — we never guess it from your photo.

Sun-sensitivity estimate (optional)

A one-time estimate of how your skin tends to respond to sun (Fitzpatrick type I–VI), used only for sun-care tips. It's an estimate — you can correct it.

Your type: VI

Your skin rarely burns, but sun still deepens dark spots and uneven tone. Daily broad-spectrum SPF 30+ helps even out the look of tone — tinted or mineral formulas avoid a white cast.

0–100, from the provider's unadjusted score. Higher means the model sees less of that feature. Compare it with your own earlier check-ins, not with other people.

We show the provider's unadjusted raw score, not its flattering display score.

Product tests

Is it working? Test one product at a time: a baseline photo, a few weeks of use, then a comparison that ignores ordinary photo variation.

Known limitations

  • Photos show how skin looks, not what is happening in it. Light, angle and camera all move the numbers.
  • A change smaller than normal photo-to-photo variation is shown as "within normal photo variation" — never as progress or a setback.
  • A product test shows how the look of a feature changed in photos during the test, not why. Season, sleep, stress and other products all play a part, so run one test at a time.
  • Redness is hard to see in photos of deeper skin because melanin masks it. We hide it for Monk 8–10 until our own measurements show it can be read reliably.
  • Our per-tone reliability settings are provisional and based on published research. A consistency check across skin tones is planned, and its results will be published here.
  • The analysis provider has not published accuracy by skin tone for this model version.
  • We commit to keep checking how the journal performs across skin tones after launch.
